Since 1931, the Silver Beaver Award has recognized Scouters whose service has made a meaningful impact on youth at the council level.
It is the highest recognition a local council can bestow upon a volunteer and is presented upon recommendation of the local council.
A strong nomination should clearly describe the nominee's Scouting service, leadership, impact on youth and noteworthy service outside of Scouting.

Eligibility
Registered Adult Volunteers
The award is limited to adults age 21 or older who are registered with Scouting America as volunteer Scouters.

The nomination form also provides space to describe significant service to youth, community involvement and the nominee's standing outside of Scouting.

About the Silver Beaver
The Silver Beaver Award was established in 1931 to recognize Scouters who provide distinguished service to youth at the local council level.
The award is presented by the National Court of Honor upon recommendation of the local council and recognizes exceptional volunteer service that strengthens Scouting and the communities it serves.
Greater Tampa Bay Area Council and its predecessor councils have recognized generations of volunteers whose leadership and service have shaped Scouting throughout our region.
