Some skills can be completed online. Others require advanced, hands-on training before volunteers can help lead programs at district, council or camp events.

Advanced Program Leadership

National Camping School

Want to take a larger role in a council camp or program area? National Camping School prepares qualified adults for specialized camp leadership positions in areas such as aquatics, climbing, COPE, range activities and camp administration.

  • Be registered with Scouting America
  • Have current Safeguarding Youth training
  • Receive approval from your council
  • Complete any prerequisites required for your section

Safety Training in My.Scouting

Activity-specific training such as Safe Swim Defense and Safety Afloat can be completed through the Scouting America Learning Center in My.Scouting.
