The Greater Tampa Bay Area Council is proud to offer scholarships to Scouts seeking adventure and growth through camping experiences. We are dedicated to making these opportunities accessible to all Scouts, and these scholarships are a testament to our commitment.
J. Rudolph W. Kohler Camp Scholarship
Purpose: The J. Rudolph W. Kohler Camp Scholarship aims to support Scouts BSA members of the Greater Tampa Bay Area Council in attending BSA-accredited resident camps, National BSA High Adventure Bases, and National or International Scout Jamborees.
Eligibility: This scholarship is intended for seasoned Scouts who have attained at least the rank of First Class. Applicants should demonstrate leadership qualities within their Troop and among their peers. Preference will be given to Scouts from St. Petersburg or Pinellas County, FL.
Council Campership
Purpose: These camperships are designed to make camp possible to deserving Scouts who otherwise would not be able to meet the fee requirements.
Eligibility: In order to qualify for a campership, the applicant must be an active, registered member of a unit in the Greater Tampa Bay Area Council.
Waite Phillips Scholarship
Purpose: The Waite Phillips Scholarship provides financial assistance to Scouts who wish to attend Philmont Scout Ranch, ensuring that the adventure and learning experiences of Philmont are accessible to all.
Eligibility: This scholarship is available to Scouts who need financial assistance to attend Philmont. It is offered directly by Philmont Ranch.
Mike and Darlene Charles High Adventure Scholarship
Purpose: In honor of Mike Charles’s cherished memories at Philmont, the Mike and Darlene Charles High Adventure Scholarship aims to help offset the cost of travel to and from Philmont Scout Ranch for the youth of the Greater Tampa Bay Area Council.
Eligibility: This scholarship is open to Scouts of GTBAC who are planning to embark on the high adventure experience at Philmont and require financial assistance for travel.
