New Scout Executive Selected

Mike began his Scouting career as a District Executive in the Atlanta Area Council. He also served as a Field Director and Director of Finance Service in Atlanta before moving to become the Scout Executive in the Old Hickory Council in Winston-Salem, NC. He then moved to serve as Field Director and Deputy Scout Executive in the National Capital Area Council, Bethesda, MD, before being selected as the Scout Executive of the Blue Ridge Council in Greenville, SC. In 2019, Mike was selected to serve as the Area 6 Director for the Western Region and most recently has been the National Service Territory 16 Director. Mike is a Vigil Honor member of the Order of the Arrow who enjoys golf, running, and boating. Mike and his wife Jana have three grown children. Please join us in congratulating Mike as he joins in partnership with the volunteers and staff of the Greater Tampa Bay Area Council to deliver quality Scouting experiences to the young people of the communities they serve.

Jim Rees, current Scout Executive of the Greater Tampa Bay Area Council will retire March 2022. Jim has been a professional scouter for 31 years, with his past 4 years spent in the Greater Tampa Bay Area Council. We want to thank Jim for his service and dedication to the GTBAC. We wish him and his wife Jeannine all the best!
