Do you have a Scout who is applying for his Eagle rank? Are you aware of the new application that was released in April? You can find a link to the app on the Resources > Forms page of our website.

An important change is found on Page Two of the application. In the Certification by Applicant section, there is new language describing the Statement Of Your Ambitions And Life Purpose that must be completed and submitted with the application. Feedback from the Council’s Advancement Committee reports that failure to submit the Statement is a common reason for delays in processing the application.

Another area for attention is the requirement for letters of reference. The Council requires that letters from the references listed on the front page of the application be turned in with the application. This has been a Council policy for many years and remains in place. A very important note is that, in accordance with the Guide to Advancement 2017, these letters are to be sealed and never shown to the Scout or his parents. They are considered confidential and only opened by the Board of Review members. If you have any questions, please talk with your district advancement chair.
