It’s Recharter Season! Check out Volunteer Support Coordinator Christine Chansley with 7 tips to ROCK Rechartering.
Recharter Tip #1
Begin with your membership and youth protection training inventories right away. It’s the first step towards a successful recharter season. For assistance with downloading copies of your unit’s current membership roster or current youth protection aging report please contact your District Commissioner and/or send an email to gtbacrecharter@gmail.com.
Recharter Tip #2
A unit’s key leaders can access their charter renewal portal at advancements.scouting.org/login. Remember, the deadline for submission to the Council Service Center is Friday, December 15, 2023. Recharter Tip #3
Before beginning, verify your unit’s “Key 3” leaders are correctly registered with your unit. This is essential for units wishing to complete the charter renewal process using Internet Rechartering 2.0. Fun tip! Your unit can assign an adult as a delegate to lead the recharter renewal process.
Recharter Tip #4
New members who’ve joined AFTER August 1st are listed as “prepaid” on your roster. There is no other action that needs to be taken, or fees to be collected.
Recharter Tip #5
Complete and submit all new adult and youth member applications. Remember, adult members need a criminal background check and youth protection training documentation. If you choose to do paper submissions, ALL applications (and supporting documentation) must be submitted to the Council Service Center before we can begin your unit’s renewal paperwork process. The quickest and most efficient way to register is via online!
Recharter Tip #6
Keep an eye out for the digital signature email once your roster update is complete. It’s a vital step to finalize your recharter.
