Youth Advisory Committee Nomination Form - Greater Tampa Bay Area Council

The Youth Advisory Committee is being established to ensure that the voice of our youth helps shape the future of Scouting in the Greater Tampa Bay Area Council. This committee will bring together outstanding Scouts from across the council to share ideas, provide honest feedback, and collaborate with council leadership to strengthen programs, events, and the overall Scouting experience. Serving on the Youth Advisory Committee will be an opportunity for a Scout to lead beyond their unit — to represent their peers, influence meaningful decisions, and help build an even stronger Scouting program for all youth. Unit leaders are invited to nominate Scouts who demonstrate character, initiative, leadership, and a genuine desire to make a difference. The initial term of service will begin on or about April 1, 2026 and last through May 31, 2027.

Time Commitment

The youth will determine the best meeting schedule once the group is formed. We are estimating bimonthly zoom meetings and then one or two in-person opportunities.

Selection Process

Unit leaders submit this nomination form by Wednesday, March 11, 2026.
A council selection committee carefully reviews all nominations.
Selected nominees will be invited to participate in an interview before final appointments are made; interviews are expected to be conducted the week of March 23.

We encourage thoughtful nominations of Scouts who are ready to represent the youth of our council with integrity, courage, and vision. Scouts selected to serve on the Youth Advisory Committee are expected to actively participate in scheduled meetings, come prepared to contribute thoughtfully to discussions, and communicate respectfully with both peers and council leadership. Members should be willing to gather input from other youth in their units and districts and bring forward ideas that reflect the broader Scouting community. Service on the committee requires maturity, reliability, and a commitment to representing the values of Scouting at the council level.
