Questions about Scouting?
No. Many families are brand new to Scouting. Local leaders will help you understand how the program works.
Yes. All Scouting America programs are open to girls and boys.
Registration assistance may be available for families who need help.
That is completely fine. Scouting is designed to help kids learn step by step.
No. Families are encouraged to find a unit that feels like the right fit.
Yes. Many Scouts also participate in sports, clubs, music, and other activities. Meeting schedules vary by local unit, so families can look for a group that fits their schedule.
That’s okay. Scouting includes much more than camping, with STEM, games, service projects, hands-on skills, leadership, and other activities that let kids discover what they enjoy.
Yes. Scouting gives homeschool families another way for kids to make friends, learn hands-on skills, get outdoors, and participate in group activities. Families using Step Up For Students may also be able to use eligible scholarship funds toward Scouting club fees.
Yes. Eligible youth in Active Duty, Reserve, National Guard, and Coast Guard families can have the $85 national youth registration fee waived when registering online and completing the verification process. Other local, unit, optional, and processing fees may still apply.
