When unexpected incidents occur in Scouting activities, timely and accurate reporting is critical to protecting the safety and well-being of everyone involved. Units are expected to promptly notify the council of any incident and provide clear, concise, and factual information regarding what occurred.
The Incident Reporting Tools below are designed to help gather the important details your council may need, including information about the incident, involved individuals, witness accounts, injuries or damages, immediate actions taken, contributing factors, and any follow-up steps. Supporting documentation such as photos, witness statements, and medical records should also be included whenever possible.
For additional guidance on reporting expectations and timelines, please review Scouting America’s incident reporting procedures.
