Last Friday, our Withlacoochee District gathered for a meaningful event—the annual Celebration of Scouting breakfast, generously hosted by our long-time partner, the Withlacoochee River Electric Cooperative (WREC). Thanks to the generosity of our community, the breakfast raised an outstanding $25,000, which will directly support our mission to empower and guide the youth of our region.

A Powerful Partnership: Scouting and WREC

This year’s event carries even more weight, as it comes on the heels of WREC’s immense response efforts following Hurricanes Helene and Milton. The cooperative has always been a strong advocate for community support and service, which was demonstrated once again when they used our own Sand Hill Scout Reservation as a staging ground during power recovery operations. WREC’s use of Sand Hill not only showcased their commitment to efficient disaster recovery but also underscored the cooperative’s bond with Scouting, strengthening our shared commitment to building resilience within our community.

WREC: A Legacy of Supporting Scouting

WREC’s support of Scouting goes beyond just this event. As a long-standing ally of the Boy Scouts, WREC has consistently championed our mission, investing in programs that nurture leadership, resilience, and civic responsibility in the next generation. From sponsorships to event support, WREC’s contributions have played a pivotal role in helping our Scouts grow into future leaders equipped with invaluable skills and character.

Thank You to Our Generous Donors

We extend a heartfelt thank you to WREC and every individual and business that donated to make the breakfast a success. Your contributions enable us to invest in local youth and foster an environment where young people can learn, grow, and thrive. Together, we are making our community stronger, one Scout at a time.

Moving Forward with Purpose

The funds raised will be directed toward Scouting programs that offer our youth unique opportunities for personal development and community involvement. With partners like WREC by our side, we’re excited to continue building a brighter future for our Scouts and our community.

Here’s to the power of partnership, resilience, and a community that stands together. Thank you, WREC, for your steadfast support and dedication to our mission.
