THERE’S SCOUTING
IN YOUR COMMUNITY.
Adventure. Friends. Confidence. Skills they’ll use for life.
Scouting is a year-round program for boys and girls that builds confidence through outdoor adventure, hands-on learning, leadership and service.
THERE’S A SCOUTING PROGRAM FOR EVERY AGE.
From first adventures to bigger challenges, Scouting gives young people a place to explore, build skills, make friends and grow along the way.
BIG ADVENTURES START SMALL.
Cub Scouts is built around family, fun and trying new things. Kids get hands-on experiences while making friends and building confidence along the way.
- Go camping and gather around the campfire
- Build and race a Pinewood Derby car
- Hike, fish, explore and get outside
- Try new activities together as a family
GO FURTHER. TRY MORE. TAKE THE LEAD.
Scouts BSA gives young people the chance to challenge themselves, build practical skills and take on more responsibility through real-world adventure.
- Camp, hike and backpack with your troop
- Climb, swim and take on outdoor challenges
- Explore hundreds of skills through merit badges
- Lead projects and serve your community
MORE INDEPENDENCE. BIGGER ADVENTURES.
Older youth programs give teens and young adults opportunities to explore high adventure, leadership, teamwork and specialized experiences built around their interests.
- Take on high-adventure trips and challenges
- Build leadership through real responsibility
- Try climbing, COPE and other advanced activities
- Explore boating and maritime skills through Sea Scouts

SUPPORT SCOUTINGWHAT DOES SCOUTING COST?
Scouting America registration is $118 for the year, plus local unit fees. Here’s what that actually means.
EVERY GROUP IS DIFFERENT.
Local packs and troops handle their fees differently. Some collect more upfront to help cover activities throughout the year, while others collect costs as activities come up.
Your local group can give you the clearest picture of what to expect.
MORE THAN A SEASON.
Scouting is a year-round program. Kids can keep learning, exploring, building skills and making friends throughout the year instead of wrapping up after one short season.
WHAT ELSE MIGHT I PAY FOR?
Uniforms, campouts, camps, special events and some activities may have additional costs depending on what your Scout chooses to do.
CAN FUNDRAISING HELP?
Often, yes. Many packs and troops offer fundraising opportunities that can help families offset some Scouting-related costs. What’s available and how funds are used can vary by unit.
WHAT WILL MY FAMILY ACTUALLY PAY?
That depends on the local pack or troop and the activities your family chooses. The best way to get an exact number is to connect with a group near you.
