Plan now to attend the Greater Tampa Bay Area Council’s University of Scouting on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at Saint Leo University (33701 State Road 52, Saint Leo 33574).

The day will begin with a special opening ceremony at 8:30am and will conclude with a similar gathering. Morning and afternoon sessions are available

The University of Scouting is an adult leader’s learning adventure! It is an action-packed, fun-filled day of supplemental training where you choose the sessions you wish to take. Sessions are led by experienced volunteers who will help you enhance your ability to deliver a fun and exciting program to the youth in your unit(s). There are a variety of classes for new and veteran Scouters.

In addition to the training, you’ll have the opportunity to network with other Scouters; make new friends, and share ideas and experiences. There will be a Leader Resource Center where you can find information and materials on a wide variety of Scouting activities, organizations and other resources designed to help you be a more effective Scout Leader.

We will be offering a youth studies for Scouts and Venturers ages 14 and above, or First Class rank.

Advanced Degrees: Have you completed two years of courses at previous University of Scouting events and are you ready to pursue your Master’s Degree? Please contact John Coble at or Donna Williams at for prerequisites.

The 2018 University of Scouting will be a rain-or-shine event at Saint Leo University. All participants are encouraged to wear a complete field uniform throughout the day. Please bring a water bottle or reusable cup to stay hydrated.
