SUMMARY:Troop 475 Recruitment Night
DESCRIPTION:Troop 475 has been helping young people grow through adventure\, leadership\, service\, and friendship for more than 30 years\, with over 100 Scouts achieving the rank of Eagle Scout along the way. We meet every Monday night from 7:00–8:30 PM at Lutheran Church of the Resurrection\, 1555 Windmill Pointe Rd\, Palm Harbor\, FL 34685\, and offer an active year-round program built around getting Scouts outdoors\, developing leadership skills\, serving their community\, and having fun. During the school year\, we typically camp once each month\, with adventures that include Florida state parks\, river canoeing and kayaking\, fishing trips\, hiking\, zip lines\, ropes courses\, and much more. Every year we attend summer camp\, usually traveling to the mountains of North Carolina or northern Georgia to escape the Florida heat and experience a completely different outdoor environment\, and we also participate in winter camp each year. For Scouts looking for an even bigger challenge\, Troop 475 typically participates in one of Scouting America’s High Adventure Bases at least once a year\, and sometimes more. Our Scouts give back through community service projects\, flag retirement ceremonies\, and other service opportunities\, while learning the values of Scouting\, outdoor skills\, teamwork\, responsibility\, and citizenship. Most importantly\, Troop 475 is a Scout-led troop: Scouts learn to plan activities\, make decisions\, lead their peers\, and run the troop while trained adults provide guidance\, supervision\, and support. With tremendous opportunities for advancement\, merit badges\, camping\, high adventure\, leadership\, service\, friendship\, and fun\, Troop 475 gives Scouts the chance to challenge themselves\, develop confidence\, make lifelong friends\, and create experiences they will remember for years to come.
